Helen and Hilmar Kuebel Endowed Scholarship

The Helen and Hilmar Kuebel Endowed Nursing Scholarship was created by Helen Kuebel in 2014 in memory of her late husband, Hilmar. Hilmar served as Lower Columbia College’s Vice President of Finance and Administration until his retirement in 1998. Helen also served Lower Columbia College as a nursing instructor, Director of Nursing, and Associate Dean of Nursing and Allied Health until her retirement in 2011. Helen was recognized by then-Governor Christine Gregoire for her contributions to the Rural Outreach Nursing Education (RONE) project. The student recipient must be a nursing major with a 2.0 or higher GPA. First preference given to a GED or nontraditional high school student. Scholarship is renewable for a second year if criteria continue to be met.
